北京时间

The Tenth International Symposium on Spatial Accuracy Assessment in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences will be hosted by the Federal University of  Santa Catarina and The State University of  Santa Catarina, Florianópolis – SC, Brazil, July 10 – 13 2012 on behalf of the International Spatial Accuracy Research Association (ISARA).

The Accuracy Symposium brings together experts from environmental sciences, natural resources, spatial statistics, and geographic information science to develop theory and methods for assessing and understanding spatial uncertainty. The symposium has met every two years since 1994 in a variety of international locations (USA, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia, Portugal, China, United Kingdom) and has attracted between 80 and 300 participants.  Symposia programs have included combinations of keynote speakers, invited paper sessions, contributed paper sessions, posters, and workshops.

Symposia topics have included:

-           aggregation and generalization in spatial uncertainty assessment

-           design- and model-based approaches to spatial accuracy assessment

-           error sensitive GIS

-           incorporating uncertainty in spatial decision making

-           uncertainty in remotely sensed data and images
-           model validation with imperfect ground truth data

-           positional uncertainty in spatial analyses
-           propagation of uncertainty

-           spatial uncertainty for categorical data

-           stochastic spatial simulation
-           spatio-temporal analyses and uncertainty
-           visualizing spatial uncertainty

with applications in nearly all areas of environmental sciences and natural resources and accuracy and uncertainty assessments in related quantitative applications such as spatial statistics, statistical sampling, inventory and monitoring, and simulation modeling.  Each previous symposium has included a proceedings which was distributed at or shortly following the symposium.

Authors are invited to submit abstracts of no more than 500 words in English on original research. Those accepted abstracts will be published as short papers in the symposium proceedings (ISBN listed) and presented as oral or poster papers at the symposium. Authors of accepted abstracts will be also invited to submit full papers for international peer review: Brazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics. All topics concerned with spatial accuracy in a natural resources and environmental sciences context are appropriate, for example:

Semantic uncertainty and vagueness
Modelling uncertainty using geostatistics
Propagation of uncertainty in GIS
Visualizing spatial uncertainty
Uncertainty in Remote Sensing
Spatiotemporal uncertainty
Accuracy and uncertainty of DEMs
Modelling scale in environmental systems
Positional uncertainty
Symposium Proceedings
Papers based on accepted abstracts received by the secretariat of Accuracy 2012 event and before May 11th 2012, will be published in book form (ISBN listed). The book will be supplied to all delegates at the beginning of the Symposium. At the Symposium, authors of selected papers will also be invited to submit a revised and elaborated version of their paper for publication in an special issue of the Brazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics.
All submissions will be online and at least one author will be required to register/attend the symposium. Details for the submission and guidelines for the format of papers and posters can be found elsewhere on the conference website.
In order to submit your paper, you will need to CREATE A CONFTOOL ACCOUNT.
